To understand reality even better—and ultimately to change it—the most important question in this world of contradictions remains: “Where do we focus our attention within the framework of possibilities?” (Incidentally, you don’t need to have seen the movie to understand my explanation.) A brief explanation of the scene in The Matrix to which I’m referring:

Neo (the film’s protagonist) watches as a child stares at a spoon
he’s holding in his hand and suddenly bends it.

Neo tries to understand how that works. The child’s explanation was very brief: “Don’t try to bend the spoon. It’s impossible.”

The child continued: “There is no spoon.”

“It is you who are bending!”

“Most people who have seen this movie interpret this scene that ‘perceived reality isn’t real.’”
That may be partly true, but it goes much deeper than that assumption.
The child’s lesson isn’t about bending a metal spoon.
It’s about gaining insight into your own perception. How rigid am I in my perception!
Because the moment Neo tries to force the spoon to change through his thoughts, he still accepts the spoon as something fixed—or, in other words, as solid matter—something separate from him self.
The spoon will not bend as long as we perceive from a world of separation.
It then remains a struggle against reality that has been unconsciously created by assumed limitations.
And this is exactly what we do continuously in life. We try to change the world within a limited framework of perception.

We try to change a relationship.

We want to change circumstances.

We want to change other people.

We want to change the future.

We want to bend everything to our will until it yields what we want.

A transformation of reality does not begin with wanting a change.

It arises when you become completely still within and recognize consciousness in all its fullness, allowing it to change the way you view reality.

Suppose, for example, that you are having a lucid dream; within this real-life lucid dream, you can do, decide, and experience anything you wish. This is possible because, at that moment, your consciousness is not tied to a material world of imposed and accepted limitations.

The possibility of experiences never becomes a fixed reality until your beliefs have limited it with a framework of assumptions.

Your brain constantly filters enormous amounts of information through memories, expectations, emotions, beliefs, identity, and attention.
So you do not experience the world the way you do simply by chance.

You experience a model of the world that has been constructed by your consciousness within the framework of your assumptions and patterns of expectation (vision of the future).
A good example of how assumptions shape our experience is, let’s say, a rainstorm. The farmer who has been waiting so long for rain, experiences the rainstorm as a blessing. The passerby who forgot his raincoat or umbrella runs, cursing, to the nearest shelter to take cover. The rainstorm is the same, but the personal experiences of the rainstorm are completely different. One person feels “supported,” while the other feels “cursed.”

Now, the ability to bend that particular spoon becomes much more interesting.

The spoon represents everything you unconsciously accept as an established fact.
Here are a few examples of assumptions that influence your personal life:

“This isn’t something I’m capable of.”

“There are too many problems to overcome.”
“People like me can’t do that.”

“I’m not that lucky.”

“I always have bad luck.”
“The past has shown so often that something like that isn’t in my future.”
“The reality I know is the only reality there is” … etc.

These are, in fact, a few rigid mindsets you might encounter. Be honest and see if you recognize them! So, for most of your life, you may find yourself trying to bend these limitations.
But the awakening begins when you examine who, in the first place, assumed that these are fixed realities.
Your relationship to reality determines which possibilities you can perceive, pursue, and also embody.

As consciousness expands and subsequently clears away old baggage, and the weight of limitations gradually dissolves, your attitude toward reality will also begin to shift.

When your attitude or behavior changes, the choices you make may automatically change.
When your choices change, other possibilities open up—ones that suddenly become available.
And then the reality that once seemed unshakable begins to shift as well.

“The Matrix” is also a metaphor for making the invisible conditioning within ourselves visible.
You don’t escape “the Matrix” by simply fighting against everything. By doing so, you perpetuate it!

You escape “the Matrix” by becoming aware of the ingrained conditioning that you have subsequently accepted as truth.

Because, what you can clearly perceive, you no longer need to obey unconsciously.

And perhaps that is the deeper meaning behind the child’s final lesson (the child represents inner innocence):
“It is not the spoon that bends. ‘You are the bending itself.’ By being transparent and flexible on the inside, you allow external reality to bend along with you.”

If all matter is energy (a proposition of Einstein’s) and our bodies are therefore also energy, what then takes place between our bodies and minds in relation to that metal spoon? Put very simply: “an exchange of information between different energy fields.” In this way, matter takes on a different perspective. Consciousness is the unified field where that exchange of information and transformation of the energy fields can take place.

The spoon experiment was never really about telekinesis.
It was about freeing ourselves from and clearing away fixed assumptions and limitations.
Once you realize that… you begin to notice inner “spoons” everywhere that you can ultimately transform and redirect into a different inner reality—and perhaps later into a different material reality.

Are we, as a human collective, ready for a “total shift” toward a different world?

The world we live in is a collective phenomenon in which the frequency of the energy field determines how the world is experienced. If I still see a great deal of division and mutual resistance among people, then the honest answer is: no, not yet!

Yet more and more people will begin to sense that things must and can be different. So we are indeed shifting toward that new world! We regularly feel a light but distinct touch. It’s as if two worlds with different vibrations (frequencies) are already overlapping just a little bit. Dimensions are separated from one another only by a difference in frequency. The new world is already here, coexisting with the existing world. (Try to let go of the thinking that creates separation for a moment.) Sometimes you can feel it because your own energy field is raising in frequency, but you can also feel it when the frequency drops again because, out of habit, you fall back into the trap of “mainstream” pull. Ultimately, we will increasingly inspire one another to recognize in time the old assumptions—which are partly perpetuated by the mainstream cage—and then to choose once again a harmonious inner world composed from the heart, thereby causing the “mainstream” to gain less and less momentum in bending reality to its will. The outer transformation of the world in which we belong and wish to live will then follow naturally.

“When a bird is caged, it will not use its wings to fly.” A brief scene from the movie The Matrix nicely complements my previous post (July 2026 blog) about perceiving our current reality.
